NARS Hopelessly Devoted

I have been on the hunt for NARS Laguna bronzer and their Deep Throat blush for a while now, but wasn't sure whether to take the plunge and pay the full price. I was having a little look for them on eBay, when I came across a seller in America offering this Hopelessly Devoted set for about $35 (roughly £22) I was delighted, because the set includes a duo of Laguna and Deep Throat, along with two medium size lip glosses in shades Orgasm and Crepuscule.  I think that this set might be exclusive to Nordstrom in America and I'm not sure it's available anymore, so best to look on eBay if you're after this.

The duo is absolutely lovely, I'm so glad I found the blush and bronzer in a duo together, so perfect!

This is my first bronzer, and it's ideal because it's so hard to go overboard with Laguna, I used my Real Techniques contouring brush to apply it and found myself twirling the brush in the pan about 3 times until I started to see any real difference, which is great with a bronzer, as I'm so scared of looking orange!

Deep Throat is such a pretty shade, a pinky peach with teeny gold shimmer which isn't visible when applied which I'm pleased about (I'm not a fan of a very shimmery cheek!). It gives an effortlessly natural effect, I'm in love :)

As for the lipglosses....I'm not sure. I'm not really a lipgloss girl, but if I can find one which is not sticky or packed with glitter I'll go with it. I thought Crepuscule would be a game changer for me as the shade looks so pretty when swatched, but on the lips...it's like a bronze, brown deep red and it ain't pretty. A bit too mature a shade for me. As for Orgasm, it follows the same colours as the blush of the same name, a pink with gold shimmer it's a lot more subtle than Crepuscule, and used sparingly it looks very pretty. First time I tried this I put too much on and my lips looked a tad too gold, so it's best to just use a little! The consistency of the glosses is nice too, not too sticky but they don't slide all over the place.

Lipglosses aside, I'm incredibly pleased with the duo, and for £22 it was cheaper than buying either the blush or bronzer alone, and now I can see if they are products I will use everyday. I can see myself using Deep Throat a lot but I would like to find a better brush for the bronzer, maybe the Real Techniques powder brush? (my poor bank account...)

Right, make-up chatting break aside, back to my dissertation!

xx

Have you tried any of these products?

What brush do you use for bronzer?

    1. Thanks for the recommendation!! I was considering buying it already actually so this means I'll definitely be getting it! :) I currently use the RT contouring brush for both but I find that it applies product too precisely when I kind of want a soft glow :)

      Thanks for the comment! xx

  2. I use a big, dense face brush from Crown Brushes. I got one of their 13 pc brush rolls a while back, and have gotten soooo much use out of it. x
